About
Sisters Inta and Vita, baking in Belturbet
Café Nua was created and is run by sisters Inta and Vita. They opened in August 2020 — a cosy coffee shop with a big dream, a passion for baking, and a lot of hard work.
Everything is made and prepared on site from local ingredients. Homemade cakes, pastries and sweet treats sit in the counter; custom cakes and treat boxes are a speciality for birthdays and other occasions.
Have breakfast or lunch at a table inside, or catch a breeze on the outdoor terrace when it’s set out. This preview is the original Belturbet café — they opened a second shop in Cavan Town in December 2024.

Treat boxes & macarons
Macarons, fudge, and packed treat boxes for taking home. They specialise in custom boxes for special occasions — reviewers mention the box looking as good as what’s inside.
Breakfast & lunch
A sit-in breakfast or lunch in a relaxed room, or takeaway from the counter. The board has pancakes, salads, soup, toasties and sourdough — plus coffee, tea, and a slice of whatever’s in the case.

I ordered some cupcakes for my mums birthday, they were absolutely gorgeous and the staff were so helpful and friendly. While I was picking up the cupcakes, I also ended up getting some macaroons, delicious! This place is a must visit.
Amazing gem of a coffee shop – don’t risk it if you’re trying to lose weight! Fancy cakes, fancy fudge, macarons… I ended up taking a goodie box home for my daughter too — even the box looked impressive. The staff were friendly too and prices were very reasonable.
Food was delicious, lovely atmosphere and we were able to have our dog with us. Will definitely be back.
